I have stolen music by defeating the DRM in Apple’s iTunes and iPod.Since my PowerBook was stolen back in October, the only copy I have of several songs purchased from iTunes is the copy on my iPod mini. Since I have had to purchase a new computer, it does not recognize my existing iPod and purchased songs. It seems to want to erase those songs…So, I have downloaded a hack to circumvent Apple’s stupid DRM. I have stolen music from myself. I have posted before about how ridiculous Apple’s DRM is, but this one takes the cake. I could be legally tried (and possibly convicted) for defeating Apple’s DRM and stealing music that I have paid for.I’m not entirely against DRM, and understand why it is there, but Apple could do a better job than the current “one iPod, one computer” paradigm.
